About the Author Letitia M. Pipes grew up in Portland, Texas, right by the beach. She took piano lessons, rode her bike, attended church, and sang in the school choir. She attended school at Gregory-Portland ISD and then went on to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science. While in college, she wrote articles for the school newspaper as well as the school magazine. Letitia met her husband, Jeff, at college and they were married not long after graduation. They moved to the family farm in Maypearl, Texas. Her three boys are her world and her pride and joy They have grown into wonderful, successful young men, and she also has the privilege of having an amazing daughter-in-law join the family. Nineteen years ago, she made the decision to become a teacher. She has taught Special Education and English throughout her career. She was honored to receive the Covington Mason Lodge Award for Teaching in 2018. For as long as she can remember, Letitia has loved to read.
